Mount Vernon-Lisbon Chili Cook-Off 2020
October 10 @ 4:00 pm - 7:00 pm
The 14th Annual Mount Vernon-Lisbon Chili Cook-off will take place Saturday, October 10, 2020, in partnership with the 11th Annual Mount Vernon Chocolate Stroll.
RSVP on Facebook.
The event features 25 four-person teams competing for cash prizes totaling $400 and bragging rights. The cooking will take place from noon to 4 p.m. Then the public is invited to the tasting portion of the event from 4 to 7 p.m.
The 2020 Chocolate Stroll is 10:00am – 4:00pm on the same day.
“The Chocolate Stroll and Chili Cook-off committees, both managed by the CDG, got together and decided to partner to create an all-inclusive, family friendly chocolate and chili event that celebrates two great festival foods,” said Chocolate Stroll Committee Chair Sherene Player. “Since both festivals rely on sponsorship dollars, we thought this might be a great way to share resources and offer festival-goers two great events in one big day.”
“We are ecstatic about this partnership!” said Lori Winder, Chili Cook-off Committee Chair Lori Winder. “Chocolate has been a go-to secret ingredient in many Chili recipes, and chocolate bars with a bit of chili pepper are always popular and delicious. We encourage everyone to come to Mount Vernon for Chocolate from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., and stay for Chili from 4 to 7 p.m.”
