Uptown Theatre Honors this Saturday

The 4th Annual Uptown Theatre Honors will take place Saturday, Oct. 20, at 7:30 p.m. (with a wine-and-appetizer reception beginning at 6:30 p.m.), at the First Street Community Center Uptown Theatre, 221 First St. NE, Mount Vernon. The event will honor Damon Cole, Jim and Catherine Kennedy, Johnny Krob, Beryl O’Connor and Mickey Woods. The gala event will include tribute speeches, live musical numbers, and much more.

“This community owes a lot to those people who have tirelessly contributed to Mount Vernon and Lisbon’s quality of life through their work in the arts and culture of our communities,” said Trude Elliott, spokesperson for the group. “These are the people that continually make our community a great place to live, work and visit, and with this event we hope all of the community will show up and show their appreciation for these six honorees.”

A limited number of $20 tickets for the event are available at Bauman’s, 124 1st St. SW, Mount Vernon, or through a special reservation line set up for the event. To reserve tickets, patrons are asked to call (319) 895-8060. Tickets at the door, if available, will be $20.
