The Mount Vernon-Lisbon Community Development Group (CDG), a Main Street Iowa Organization, hosted a volunteer recognition celebration on Monday, August 28, from 6:30 to 8 p.m., in the basement of the First Presbyterian Church of Mount Vernon. The “Volunteer Prom” celebrated the 472 registered CDG volunteers who cumulatively have logged more than 47,620 volunteer hours since the organization began in 2008.
