Community Forum on Water Quality June 19

The Mount Vernon-Lisbon Community Development Group (CDG) has announced a community forum dedicated to Iowa’s Water Quality to take place Wednesday, June 19, from 5 to 6:30 p.m. at Mount Vernon Creates, 121 1st St, NW.

Produced in partnership with the University of Iowa and The National Institute For Environmental Health Sciences (NIEHS), the program will be a panel discussion focused on sharing perspectives about water quality. Panelists will include Dr. Linda Birnbaum, director of NIEHS, Tim Keegan from Broulik Farms and Dr. Chris Jones from the University of Iowa.

“This partnership seemed like a perfect fit for CDG,” said Joe Jennison, director of Main Street and Marketing for CDG. “The CDG Business Improvement committee discussed this program as an extension of our popular Entrepreneuza series and thought this was a great way to reach out to the many agricultural business entrepreneurs in the area. All are welcome to come and learn about the importance of water quality for all businesses and consumers.”

The event will include heavy hors d’oeuvres. Wine, soda and beer is available for purchase.

The event is free and open to the public, however those planning to attend should respond to Joe Jennison, for food planning purposes. To RSVP or for more information, contact Joe Jennison, CDG Director, at (319) 210-9935 or through email at [email protected]
