Iron Leaf Press wins local 04B contest

Iron Leaf Press has been chosen as the local Mount Vernon winner of IEDA’s annual Open4Business contest.

The letterpress and stationery shop located in Mount Vernon offers greeting cards and paper goods made with antique printing presses ranging from 68-125 years old. Greeting cards and paper goods are created and sold in their Mount Vernon Uptown storefront and online, and are also sold wholesale to select retailers.

As the local winner of the Open4Business contest, Iron Leaf Press owner Danielle Chargo was given $500 to go toward expenses associated with moving through the statewide contest. Iron Leaf Press was one of 24 small businesses from 24 Iowa Main Street communities to enter. If Danielle and Iron Leaf Press continues to advance in the statewide contest, she will be eligible for up to $28,000 in grants associated with the growth and expansion of her business.

Stay tuned to these pages to see how far Mount Vernon’s own Iron Leaf Press advances.

In the meantime, visit Danielle at 102 1st St. SW, to see her historic printing presses and support her win with a purchase or a stationery or invitation order. Go Danielle! We believe in you!
