Abbe Creek School Museum: Grand Bell Ringing Ceremony
Join the celebration of the return of the school bell originally from Abbe Creek School. The bell has been owned privately by the Jim and Mary Gunn family since the 1970’s. This ceremony will celebrate the return of the bell and the donation of the bell back to the school.
This is also the first day of the open houses for the summer which run from 1-5 p.m. every Sunday between Memorial Day and Labor Day each year at this one room school house, which was the first of its kind in Linn County.
Abbe Creek School is located between Cedar Rapids and Mt. Vernon, on Mt. Vernon Road, which used to be the old Lincoln Highway.
