Brackett House Bed and Breakfast Community Open House
The Brackett House Bed and Breakfast is hosting a Community Open House for its re-opening.
The Brackett House B&B is a historic inn associated with Cornell College in Mount Vernon, Iowa. It is located just steps away from campus and is also within easy walking distance of historic downtown Mount Vernon (five minutes at a fast clip) where you will find restaurants, shopping, a number of street festivals throughout the year, and a variety of places of worship. If you hop into your car you can easily reach several state parks, additional small towns to tour, and explore the larger cities of Cedar Rapids and Iowa City.
Brackett House is located on the corner of 2nd Street SW and 5th Avenue SW in Mount Vernon, Iowa. This is just across the street from the east edge of Cornell College campus and the lawn where commencement and other college ceremonies are held. This area is affectionately called the Hilltop by the college since it is part of the ridge that runs through Mount Vernon.
