The Cornell College Office of Intercultural Life will be having a FREE movie showing of “Higher Learning.”
Higher Learning is a 1995 American drama film written and directed by John Singleton. The film follows the changing lives of three incoming freshmen at the fictional Columbus University: Malik Williams, a track star who struggles with academics; Kristen Connor, a shy and naive girl; and Remy, a lonely and confused man seemingly out of place in his new environment. The film discusses many topics that today’s college students and society face, including racism, homosexuality, identity, and much more.
This event is open to all Mount Vernon and Lisbon community members and the Cornell College community.
There will be a short discussion at the conclusion of the film.
