Mt Vernon and Lisbon Summer Reading Kickoff 2017
Cole Library and Lisbon Public Library will officially kick off the summer reading program with a party at the Mount Vernon Hills Bank. This is a fun event to start getting excited about summer reading. Attendees of the Summer Reading Kickoff will sign up for the summer reading program, play games, and eat treats.
The 2017 summer reading theme is “Build a Better World,” which will focus on making the world a better place. This program encourages participation from preschoolers through young adults.
If you are unable to attend the Summer Reading Kickoff celebration, you can still sign up at the library after May 23.
Hills Bank supplies specially designed tee shirts for all children who complete the reading program. Participants earn stickers for visiting the library to check out books and attend programs; collecting ten stickers earns a tee shirt.
