Spread the word and RSVP on Facebook.
Main Street Iowa’s first Restaurant Week is Friday, September 15 through Sunday, September 24. This 10-day event encourages Iowans to travel to and dine in Main Street communities across the state. During Restaurant Week, nearly 150 restaurants in 16 communities will feature a variety of special dining offers. Diners can share their experiences by using #MSIRestaurantWeek on Instagram and Twitter.
In Mount Vernon and Lisbon, 18 restaurants are participating in restaurant week and offering specials during this statewide event. Local volunteers created a “Meet the Culinary Artists of Mount Vernon and Lisbon” campaign that includes a Restaurant Passport challenging diners to eat at as many of the 18 participating restaurants as possible during the 10-day event. Each person who eats at 5 of the 18 restaurants can turn in the passport to any participating restaurant to enter a drawing for a two-night stay in Mount Vernon courtesy of Sleep Inn & Suites (subject to availability).
“We have known for a long time that our restaurants each offer a one-of-a-kind dining experience,” said Joe Jennison, Director of Main Street and Marketing for the CDG. “Restaurant Week offers a showcase to highlight them all. And we are inviting the entire state to come and meet the Culinary Artists of Mount Vernon and Lisbon!”
