Sewing Class: Strippy Tuffet
Come make an adorable Strippy Tuffet. These little upholstered footstools are winning over everyone’s heart with their functionality and cuteness!
In this course, you will learn how to cut out the strippy cover using the supplied 12 degree wedge template. You will then master an accurate 1/4″ seam allowance to sew the strips together, and create a casing to gather the cover. You will then use basic upholstery techniques to assemble the tuffet.
Everyone will go home with a completed footstool top ready for your choice of legs!
You will need to bring your sewing machine with all attachments, a 1/4″ piecing foot, a basic sewing kit (scissors, pins, measuring tape, seam ripper etc), a rotary cutter and mat, 30-2 1/2″ x 21″ strips of fabric (a jelly roll works great!), a 5″ square of fabric for the button cover, thread to match your fabric, and a staple gun (electric works best). Cost for this class is $125 which includes everything to assemble your tuffet (except the legs and jelly roll) and a 12 degree wedge template.
