The Mount Vernon-Lisbon Child Care Solutions Group will host Sheri Penney, a speaker from the Iowa Woman’s Foundation. Penney will discuss local child care issues. Topics will include a new program recently funded through monies from the American Rescue Plan Act meant to implement new
strategies to encourage the growth of quality, affordable child care.

“In 2022, survey respondents in Mount Vernon-Lisbon reported that only 43% of families were able to find affordable, quality child care that met their family’s needs. Interested community members can help by attending this important meeting.”
