State of Our City Forum
This event was rescheduled for 1/29 due to weather.
Mount Vernon Mayor Jamie Hampton and City Administrator Chris Nosbisch will give an overview of accomplishments during the past year and goals for the future of Mount Vernon at a “State of Our City” forum.
In addition to the overview, departmental leaders Nick Nissen, Public Works Director; Heather Flynn, Associate Planner for Planning and Zoning; and Matt Siders, Parks and Recreation Director will share information on future street and sidewalk repair projects, plans of the housing commission, and timelines for completion and use of the Wellness Center, as well as parks and recreational opportunities.
Chris Nosbisch will end the presentations with an overview of the City Council’s 2019 funding priorities. There will also be time for questions and discussion.
- The public is invited and encouraged to attend.
- The forum is sponsored by the Mount Vernon-Lisbon League of Women Voters.
- NOTE: Due to limited time, Hwy 30 by-pass questions will not be addressed at this forum
Mount Vernon is becoming known as a “city on the move” with energy and thoughtful planning. The city will thrive even more if our citizens become active in its future and show excitement and gratitude for its hard work. The League hopes this kind of forum will continue in future years and be expanded to include a forum for the Lisbon community as well.
