Writer’s Night at the Pal gets mention on national blog

Writer’s Night at the Pal takes place on the 1st and 3rd Wednesday of every month at the Palisades Café, 117 1st St. NW.

On July 6, a writer by the name of Hannah Meek was scheduled to read from her blog at the Pal, and unfortunately, was unable to attend.

Writer’s Night host Joe Jennison did receive this email from Hannah:

“Joe,

Apologies for my absence last night. Turns out I actually live in Washington state and there is a Mt. Vernon located about 30 minutes south from where I am stationed. I even had a carload of people ready to watch and listen to everybody. When we were about 15 minutes away from Mt. Vernon, Washington, I asked my friend to plug in the address to the Palisades Café… I had a gut feeling we were going to be late.

Needless to say, I was in a rush as I was booking readings down the I-5 corridor to Seattle. I didn’t see that you were located in IOWA. I think I will write a blog post about this, do you mind if I give you a character/name?

If I hit the right cards and my book becomes a hot shot, no doubt I will do a reading at the Palisades Cafe.

Until then, you can follow my journey at novegansallowed.com. “

Read the blog here and consider joining Writer’s Night next Wednesday, July 20, at 8 p.m., where those in attendance will plan to raise a glass in honor of the most famous blogger who has never actually read at our event.

Thanks for the mention, Hannah!
