Linn County Conservation has announced a “Grand Bell Ringing Ceremony” to take place Sunday, June 5, 2016, from 12:30 – 1:00 p.m. at Abbe Creek School near Mount Vernon.
The event will celebrate the return of the school bell originally from Abbe Creek School. The bell has been owned privately by the Jim and Mary Gunn family since the 1970’s. This is also the first day of Sunday open houses for the summer which run from 1-5 p.m. every Sunday between Memorial Day and Labor Day each year at this one room school house, which was the first of its kind in Linn County.
