Big’s Barbeque & Brew Pub is a family friendly, full service restaurant and micro-brewery, serving smoked meats and sides since 2017. They are committed to sourcing local ingredients whenever possible. Their meats are mostly locally raised and the smoked sausage is handmade in-house.
Big’s Iowa-style barbecue has an amazingly delicious style all its own, smoked in a Southern Pride rotisserie smoker, using locally-harvested cherry wood to produce the best tasting barbecue in Iowa… or maybe anywhere!
Their very own craft brewery keeps the taps freshly stocked.  All of the craft beer is brewed on site in Mount Vernon, using the highest quality ingredients, locally sourced, with traditional craft brewing techniques.  They also have hard cider and their very own root beer on tap.
I do love to BBQ so I’m admittedly picky about eating out for it. Absolutely impressed with this place. They smashed it all around – meat to sides to the brews. Tops.

The Octoberfest beer was great. All the food we had was great as well. Wish I had a place like this closer to me. I made it back to Iowa and had to come here for lunch again. Pulled pork was awesome as was the IPA.
