The historic Brackett House was built in 1862 and has been part of Cornell College since 1952. Just steps from campus and within easy walking distance of downtown Mount Vernon, Brackett House is nestled in a historic Mount Vernon neighborhood.
The house accommodations include four rooms that vary from double occupancy to a two-bedroom suite that sleeps six.
Brackett House has several common areas that are available to rent for special occasions such as baby showers, bridal showers, graduation parties. The dining room, living room, and first floor porches are all available to host special events (availability may be limited by guest occupancy).
They also offer rentals of the full house for groups. Host a family Thanksgiving, Christmas, Passover or other holiday. Catering is available through Bon Appétit, the college food service vendor, for events from anniversary dinners to your family holiday celebration.
Make Brackett House a home away from home for out of town guests or take your family away for a special treat (where someone else will cook and clean).
I had my wedding of 25 guests here. It was amazing. Beautiful house! I was able to have the ceremony, reception and a place for our out of town guests to stay for one low price. Kim was wonderful. She went and bought snacks for the kids for their night movie. She was also very helpful with wedding planning and setting things up. Also we were able to have a breakfast with the guests the next morning. I could just go on and on about how wonderful this experience was.
