A committee made up of staff and volunteers from the City of Mount Vernon, Mount Vernon Parks and Recreation, Mount Vernon Area Arts Council and the Mount Vernon-Lisbon Community Development Group (CDG) have released the artist applications, food vendor applications and the volunteer applications for the upcoming Chalk the Walk festival.
The two-day festival will take place Saturday and Sunday, May 6 and 7, 2017, from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.
The event will feature the work of more than 300 artists utilizing a downtown city street as a canvas and more than a half-ton of chalk.
The group previously announced that Norman Rockwell’s “Dugout” will be the featured 30’x50′ at the 12th annual Chalk the Walk festival, Iowa’s largest-ever Madonnari Festival.Â
