“Writer’s Night at The Pal” is an ongoing event at the Palisades Cafe, 117 1st St. NW, Mount Vernon, where writers are asked to bring an original 10-minute piece to read live on the 1st and 3rd Wednesday of the month.
“We have noticed that a lot of our customers are writers, poets and/or avid readers,” says general manager, Elizabeth Gibson. “Winter is the perfect time to ask some of them to share their work with us and invite the larger community to stop in, hear some new work read, and sample our small plate menu, wine and beer, or dessert and coffee.”
Writers and poets of any age or experience level are invited to participate. Those interested in taking part should contact Joe Jennison direct at firstname.lastname@example.org prior to the date they would like to read. Every week, there will be one 10-minute slot available to an attendee on the night of the event.
