The Mount Vernon-Lisbon Community Development Group (CDG) has announced a new event to discuss Corridor Planning and Information concerning the upcoming Highway 30 Bypass.
The event will take place Wednesday, June 27, from 5 to 6:30 p.m. in the library of the First Street Community Center, 221 1st St. NE, Mount Vernon.
The purpose of the event is to share the progress made so far by the City of Mount Vernon’s Steering Committee, working with Confluence, the planning consultants hired to create a land use development plan in the 1900-acre area surrounding the bypass.
Steering Committee member and CDG Board member Rich Herrmann will be leading the discussion alongside City Administrator Chris Nosbisch.
“This project is still in the development stages and local business and land owners still have an opportunity to see some results AND influence the direction this committee is moving,” said Rich Herrmann. “This event was created with business leaders in mind to remind them that now is the time to get involved and have your opinions heard.”
The event will include food provided by Chameleon’s Pub & Grub as well as wine, beer and soda. All are welcome but if attending, individuals are asked to RSVP to Joe Jennison for food-planning purposes, at (319) 210-9935 or through email at [email protected]
