Join the Mount Vernon Wrestling program for the annual bags tournament. The money raised helps support wrestling at ALL levels for both genders. Funds raised help us keep the season costs low, fund scholarships, equipment, camp fee’s, etc.

Ways to participate:

• Play- There are three separate tournaments.
  • Main Event–  This tournament is for anyone that would like to participate/compete.  The first 60 teams will have a place in the bracket.  The next 24 teams will compete in a play-in tournament for the final 4 spots in the 64 team bracket.  The cost to participate is $30 per team for the single elimination tournament.  The play-in tournament will begin at 1:00 pm with the main event tournament to follow.

  • Youth-  This tournament has room for 24 teams.  It is for students in MS or ES (completed 8th grade or below).  Cost to participate is $10 per team. This tournament begins around 2:30 pm.
  • Wrestling Moms– This tournament is for our wrestling moms.  Any Mom of a youth, JH, HS or Alumni wrestler is eligible to compete.  Cost to participate is $10 per team.  This tournament will begin at 1:00.
• Live Auction- At the conclusion of the Main Event tournament,  there will be a live auction to auction off the 8 sets of bag boards that were used for the Main Event tournament.  These sets were constructed and designed by our MVWC coaches.  The designs include Iowa Hawkeyes, Iowa State Cyclones, Iowa Wrestling, ISU Wrestling, MV Boys Wrestling, MV Girls Wrestling, MV Mustangs and a special MVWC design. They look great!
• Silent Auction- For the third year in a row we will have a silent auction.  This will be led by MVWC Coaches- Brian Doyle & Josh Frost.  If you would like to donate items for the silent auction please reach out to Coach Doyle or Coach Frost.  Their emails have been linked. Feel free to get creative!
• Purchase- You can purchase a newly designed MVWC Wrestling hat.  These hats will be given as prizes for tournament champions but can also be purchased for $30 per hat.  Click this link to place your order.  MVWC Hat Order   
• Donate- If you would like to donate to the MVWC to help offset building costs, help pay for tournament prizes or just give a good will donation you can scan the QR code to access the MVWC Venmo account.
