CDG Releases 2020 Annual Report

CDG has released its 2020 Annual Report.

The report is available at both Mount Vernon and Lisbon City Halls as well as other local businesses.

It is also available online here:

Highlights include:

— building a successful Pilot Program for Outdoor Dining that helped the larger community see the possibilities of what a larger Outdoor Dining program could look like.

— leading an unprecedented Small Business Relief Grant program that partnered the CDG with the Cities of Mount Vernon and Lisbon to offer financial relief to 82 struggling businesses.

— creating a Virtual Chalk the Walk event in May and a Drive-Through Magical Night in December that proved that even during a pandemic MV can put on a show.

— planned a series of Shop Small Saturdays where volunteers and business owners worked together and proved what we knew already: Mount Vernon and Lisbon prefer to Shop Small Every Day.

— worked with both the City of Mount Vernon and the City of Lisbon to create a fund that ultimately raised monies to help pay for Derecho cleanup.

— advocated for and became the first Iowa community to enter the Cold Turkey stop smoking challenge.
